The Cape Cod Summer You Come Back To

Early summer on Cape Cod has a way of sneaking up on you. One day, you’re thinking about school calendars and spring jackets. Next, your kids are jetting toward the water  before you’ve even dropped the bags.

On the sands of Old Silver Beach, Sea Crest Beach Resort reminds us of what Cape Cod summer vacations are meant to be: easy, sunny, a little salty, and full of moments everyone talks about on the ride home.

Salt Air, No Schedule

Cape Cod has long been considered one of the country’s most beautiful places to get away: miles of sparkling shoreline, calm water, and that unmistakable New England charm. At Sea Crest, the private stretch of soft white sand along Buzzards Bay, set with loungers, umbrellas, and full beach service, starts to feel like your family’s living room for the week.

In the morning, you might start at Old Silver Provisions, coffee in hand, a breakfast sandwich to carry down for a bite on the beach. Or perhaps it’s a made to order omelet at The Lantern Room, the kind that keeps everyone fueled through a few more rounds of “just five more minutes.”

By mid-morning, lively matches of cornhole, life-size Connect 4, and beach volleyball on the oceanfront court are underway. Out in the water, you’ll see a pair of kayakers paddling the bay, or families floating on Maui Mats, laughing every time they “fall off”. Resort Activities are for everyone to enjoy, starting weekends in mid-June, then moving to daily service by the end of the month.

Afternoons stretch in that familiar Cape Cod way, loose and unplanned. Beach to pool, pool to arcade, back to the water again, no one really watching the clock. In July and August, complimentary programming fills the day with kids’ activities, movie nights, arcade happy hours, and pockets of adults-only pool time.

If you’re in the mood to explore, there’s plenty within reach, from fishing trips and water sports to the kind of town-hopping that defines beach vacations in Cape Cod, with easy access to Falmouth, ferry rides to Martha’s Vineyard, or a trip toward Provincetown or Hyannis

Everything You Need, Already Here

One of the things people don’t expect about a Cape Cod vacation is how nice it is not to get back in the car.

In summer, Streetscape at Sea Crest is open, with 5 distinct outlets to choose from, letting you move through your vacation without feeling that you have to leave the resort. Dinner might be at The Lantern Room, where you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets over the ocean and the menu leans into the local bounties you came here for. Or maybe it’s a slice from Buzzards Bay Pizza Co., eaten in flip-flops, still a little sandy. You might stop into Tavern for a drink, or The Hatch when you want something quick and salty between swims. Later, it’s Captain Scoops, a cone in hand, kids deciding on flavors like it’s a life choice.

And when you forget that extra baseball cap? Old Silver Provisions is there with vacation essentials, whether that’s an extra bottle of sunscreen, a souvenir, or just one more iced latte.

Weekends With a Soundtrack

From May 22 through September 27, weekends at Sea Crest come with live music as part of the Summer Music Series. Fridays bring Golden Hour Grooves, with cross-genre favorites at sunset. Saturday Sessions pick up with beach-ready hits, while Sunday Funday Live features dance-worthy classics for breezy summer afternoons.

A Taste of New England

If you’ve ever spent time on The Cape , you know a visit isn’t complete without an al fresco shore dinner. From June through August, Sea Crest makes it a monthly  ritual, with guests enjoying a quintessential Cape Cod dinner right on the sands of Old Silver Beach..
